Since the mid-year report is so vital to acceptance depending on a deferral, what do you guys think about my first semester grades?

AP Statistics: A-
AP Composition: A
AP Psychology: A-
Professional Career Internship: A+
Student Publications: A+
J100 Writing, Reporting, and Editing I (Taken at branch campus of Indiana University): A-

Looks good to me. If deferring is what they say it is (i.e. looking for solid follow-through), I would be optimistic.

Okay. I also sent some other updates. Thanks.

****. Do you think a B+ instead of an A- in Psychology would materially hurt me?

Your grades are fine; the question really is whether the curriculum in which you got those grades will impress. Your APs are not among the traditionally hard ones: no physics, chem or bio; no calc; no Euro or US history. What kind of a course is “student publications”? It looks like an EC with a grade. Similarly, the A+ is “Professional Career Internship” strikes me as less than meets the eye. The “+” on that “A” actually signals that it’s a lay-up: you show up and work reasonably hard, and they give you a perfect grade to boost the GPA. I wish you much luck, but having read lots of posts and reviewed lots of applications, I have my doubts.

what’s your grading scale at your school?
an A minus at one school is different from an A minus at another.

you seem to have clearly done your best. if there are any awards or honors you’ve received since you have applied I’d notify NU and they can add it to their file.
Best of luck in this stressful time!

My grading scale is so whack. An B+ is an 89 through 91 and an A- is a 92 through 94.

what the hell is the meaning of your thread title
