Back2Back2Back

Any one going to see the show? I thought we were going on Friday but had to cancel my reservations and instead am trying to reserve tickets for Sunday. Hopefully there are still Sunday tickets left.

I’m going Friday night, will probably meet another CCer there, we are so excited. Too bad we won’t see you too.

No worries, Michael, there are plenty of Sunday tickets left! :)

Confirmed the reservations. See you Sunday!

Shellipearl, please make sure you stop by afterward and say hi at the reception! I’ll be the one in the wedding dress during THE MICE. :)

Sheerviolet did not get your post till today but saw Back 2 Back last night and absolutely loved it! Anyone in the Philly area, or anyone who wants to get a sense of the professionalism and talent at UARTS should go to see this play! It is still playing for one more week and it was absolutely amazing, as good as anything I’ve ever seen, Broadway quality. Was totally impressed with UARTS, sat in on classes, met students, saw the play, fell in love with the program and the city. We’ve been visiting alot of schools but as many have said on CC you just need to find the school that has the right “feel”. I had concerns with a lack of campus and meal plan etc. After viewing the dorms and talking to the students, I found that they love having choices about where to eat, and the students we met were making good choices about what foods to keep in their small kitchens and where to eat out. As far as the dorms/apartments, how nice to have a bathroom, kitchen and a nice size apartment with your friends down the halls. The feel of this school would not be for everyone but we were surprised about how much we liked it.

Shellipearl,

I am so pleased we have you to do our shilling for us! Thank you for the kind words about the show and about the school. All your concerns are absolutely valid and were the exact concerns my parents had when it came down to this time three years ago. I wish you all the best luck in the decision-making process with your daughter. Judging from the acceptance thread, she seems to have a lot of decisions to make, and that’s a good thing! I remember getting that “feeling” that you talk about when I came and visited the school. I was basically deciding between UArts and Hartt, so I made a pro and con list with my parents, who liked Hartt better. Even though Hartt ended up having a few more pros (they were on a weighted scale and fared pretty equally), UArts had the most important pro. It was where I wanted to be.

There will always be pros and cons going to a school like UArts, no matter who you are or how you hack it. It’s what you choose to do with your education and your circumstances that makes you who you are and what you will become. The circumstances UArts gives you sort of puts you out in the real world more… If you want food, you have to buy it. If you want T.V., you have to pay a bill for it.

I love how this all ended up on the B2B2B thread, but it is incredibly important, regardless.

Good luck with it all! And, once again, thank you for the kind thoughts. Knowing that the performances we give can effect people who are strangers to us totally validates that we are doing our jobs!

Saw the show this afternoon. WOW! It was such a delightful and interesting show. Three love stories - all with such different twists ranging from the supernatural to the macabre with a lot of humor intertwined. The acting was superbly believable (the characters were palpable and real), the voices were great and the staging used the performance space very effectively with the sets, scene changes and technical effects. Brava sheerviolet, Brava. You were wonderful (as was the rest of the cast)! We stayed around a little afterwards but had to leave before the cast came out. We will catch up to you in person eventually. I am looking forward to seeing all the shows next year.

 Wish we could have enjoyed it too! ;);)

Sheerviolet, I agree you were great and the play was amazing, you probably noticed, but if not, my d is going to UARTS with MichelleV, MichaelNKat’s d, Mainstages D. Yeah UARTS class of 11. :)

yay 2011! Good year!
