I am wondering whether or not to take the Chemistry subject test but before I decide, I want to know what kind of background knowledge do you need to get a top score…for instance is everything on the test covered in an honors chemistry class, an ap chemistry class, or a little bit more or less than those 2…thanks for the help

I don’t know it is highly dependent on the teacher. In some cases a honors chem class may teach you more than an ap course. because sometimes the honors teacher is much better than ap teacher. Ask people at your school about the teachers. I took only honors chem and got 740 on sat ii in june. I’m going to be a senior next year and going to self study chem ap because my school doesn’t offer it.

In my school it goes like this: regular chem<<<<<<<<<honors chem<SAT chem<<<<AP chem

An A (with a lot of work) in Honors Chern was not enough to prepare for the subject test for MY daughter.
