I will be attending OSU if I don’t get enough money from my first-choice school, which is very probable. I already committed to OSU because I didn’t want to be one of the last people to choose their housing. However, I just realized that in order to choose housing you have to commit to a meal plan, and I’m wondering if the money spent on the meal plan will be refunded if I decide to go to a different university. I’m okay with paying the couple hundred that I put down as the deposit for going to OSU, but I don’t really want to pay a couple thousand dollars for a meal plan that I might not be using. Does anyone know how these costs work exactly?

You select the meal plan you desire then you just pay your deposit and filing fee. You don’t have to pay for the meal plan or anything until August so you have plenty of time to drop your acceptance and get a refund if you don’t want to commit.
