Suggestions for backing up data on your computer? (External HD, etc.)

Don’t know why this is on HERE, but use carboncopycloner, it’s a free program that can clone your entire computer harddrive to an external HD. It needs to be formatted, though.

If your computer is connected to the harddrive continuously, then you can schedule it to backup regularly, too.

if this question is asked about princeton specifically, you can back up most of your important data onto your H drive, which OIT maintains and thus is safe. I don’t know what the current capacity is, it was relatively small when I was there, but definitely enough for all schoolwork etc.
