I need to send in my computer for a warranty service and I do not know how to back up the email history on Outlook 2003- not the address book, the actual emails sent and received.

I know it is about the personal folders, but what I have googled so far has been a bit confusing. Any one have an easy routine to do this?

Here are the detailed directions I use regularly:

Clean out Outlook first of things not to save (Deleted email, junk email…)

In Outlook go to file then Import/Export

Export to a file

choose Personal Folder File(.pst) on the next screen

Highlight Personal Folders

Check “Include subfolders”

browse** - Choose where you want to save the Backup File (I usually do it to my destop)

give the file a name with date (Outlook 012009, eg)

Click Finish

**I then connect to my backup hard drive and drag and drop the backup icon to my backup drive. You could do this directly in step 7.
