I guess many of you are also thinking about buying a new backpack before arriving at Stanford. As biking will be the primary method for getting around on the Stanford campus, I am currently looking for a backpack for biking. Do you guys recommend any specific model or type? If I were to buy a backpack for carrying textbooks, a laptop computer, and other belongings, what kind of backpack should I carry? Thanks for your advice in advance.

If you’re going to be carrying a laptop in it, get a specially-made laptop backpack with heavy padding.

I use the backback that I used for all four years in high school. It works fine and I carry my laptop everywhere. You don’t need a specially designed backpack tailored for Stanford.
