I know there are already lots of threads about laptop bags, but my laptop is shaped a little different and I wanted to make sure I get a backpack that will fit it. I plan on ordering online, so it’s not like I can just look at it in person. I have a lenovo thinkpad w520. It has a 15.6 inch widescreen and a battery that sticks out the back of the computer. I’ve seen lots of bags for 15.4 laptops, but I’m not sure what would fit a 15.6 screen. Also, the battery sticking out the back makes things a little more difficult. I looked at the Swissgear ibex but it’s for 17 inch and I looked at the Swissgear Pegasus but idk if it will fit any ideas about these? What else should I be looking at? Thanks!

Just get a 17" laptop bag. As long as you don’t go jogging with it or something to jar it around, your laptop will sit in place fine. I would not, however, go for the smaller (15.4") bags. Always go bigger when you don’t know. It could be a plus anyway because the extra room makes for even more pockets. I can never have enough pockets…never.

dont get bag for 17". it would be too big and you would have an awkward bag too. timbuk2 make a big bag for 15". the thing is huge and have plenty of space. the only thing is that it doesnt look that good if you are a girl. if you are a guy, it will be perfect.

I am a girl

This is a backpack, right? Not a laptop sleeve-type bag? Just go ahead and get a normal backpack or messenger bag, and put your laptop in a sleeve made specially for it inside the bag. Best way to keep it safe.

get a tote. kenneth cole rock the tote is a good one.

My D LOVES her Vera Bradley computer backpack. It is very roomy. The compartment for the laptop has give as the “walls” are not rigid, but it holds it very securely and leaves her plenty of room for stuff, even files and a book. She is not the Vera type, but loves the backpack.

I just checked. Of 245 people who reviewed it on verabradley.com, 206 gave it 5 stars, 31 gave it 4 stars.

She went to a HS that issued computers, and has been through years of transporting a laptop before college. She has been through totes and backpacks. And this is her fav.

I’ll check that out. What size screen does it fit? That’s the main issue in having here, finding something that fits a 15.6 inch screen with a battery sticking out the back.
