They all work with Mac.

What’s her setup? Does she only need it in her room? Is she going to carry it around?

I personally use DropBox (cloud storage) for most of my stuff and a [Seagate GoFlex Net](http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/products/network_storage/file-sharing) for my legal ahem media.

The seagate is network reachable, has usb on it so it is expandable (usb drives, other hard drives etc).

As to reliability this is a non issue. They are all similar (WD, Seagate, Maxtor, etc). Drives do and will fail. That though is not an indication reliability.

First, why she needs 1t or 2t? It will be costly if you use the “cloud”.

As far as HD concerned, just about everything out there is pretty reliable.

I think she has a lot of music and photo/movie files that she needs backed up-otherwise I would argue that emailing herself her school papers would take care of most of it.

emeraldkity4, I just ordered this for myself. (I use a Mac.) I haven’t received it yet, but it came highly recommended, and right now, the price is excellent: [MacMall | LaCie 1TB External Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Hard Disk - Design by Neil Poulton 301304U](<a href=“TigerDirect Sunset”>TigerDirect Sunset)
