How about your grades? And what can your family afford?

I go to an independent school in Canada and I had a 89% overall average in gr 10, 91% in gr 11. For grade 9, it’s kind of unclear since I studied 1 year in England (in another independent school) and they don’t really keep a record of an “overall grade”. I don’t think we will have problems financially.

Ask your GC what they figure your grades are for 9th grade so you can get a cum GPA.

She told me that my GPA would be approximately 3.6-3.7

Some possibilities: SUNY Buffalo, U Dayton, Eastern Michigan.

I’m not going to say you’re “definitely” going to get into them. But look at Rose-Hulman and Case Western Reserve. Rose-Hulman is like a liberal arts college for scientists, and people are happy and well-educated there. They’re not into weed-out classes, but they help the people who get in to get through. Case Western is a small science-focused full university. But they don’t give great need-based aid, so you want to be sure you can afford them. Don’t go into $100K of debt for college.

Also, College Board has a school finder that will allow you to say what you want to major in, what your SAT/GPA are, where you want to be, etc., and it will list schools that meet your criteria.

Good luck!
