Hello! My name is Pattryze. I am currently in 10th grade.
I had a really bad Freshman year, I had an average of 3.6; I play golf(I have my own academy where I am the teacher, little kids attend for free once a week and I measure their progress day by day). Is it possible that in the three years of high school I have left I hide/correct my Freshman’s grades? If not, any recommendations of what I can do in the next years to increase my chances of getting in?
Also, I was born in San Diego, but I live on Mexico since I was born. I study in the American School, it allows me to take AP clases and AB’s (I am taking AP psyc.)
Thank you!!
Yes, it’s possible. I started out with a 3.625 unweighted at the end of my freshman year and worked my way up to a 3.91 by the end of my junior year after getting straight As in 10th and 11th grade and taking more classes each year. Keep in mind that you’ll definitely need to leave behind your freshman year habits because you’ll be taking harder courses. You can try padding your GPA with a few extra easy classes along the way, but make sure you take rigorous courses as well.
As for Princeton, there are rumors that they don’t even look at freshman year, but I couldn’t find anything on their website to confirm that.
You have a chance to get it to be very competitive if you work really hard the next two years.
Princeton isn’t really a safe bet for anyone but you haven’t ruined your shot.
