Bad gpa, good but not outstanding SAT

I am a Uruguayan student, and I would like to hear some college suggestions that could fit my case. I have a gpa of 2.6 (because here the educational system is really different from there and when I do the conversion it seems like I had bad grades in HS but actually I was one of the best students in my class) and a SAT of 1800, and I would like to have a list of some colleges where I could be above the average in order to increase my chances of earning a scholarship. Thank you!

Don’t convert your GPA. If you’re one of the best students in your class, clearly you’re not a C student.

In Uruguay the lowest grade is 1 and the highest is 12. With 6, you approve the course and my lowest mark is 8 so I don’t think that a 2.6 gpa reflects my HS performance.

You need to contact the closest EducationUSA office. The people there will be able to tell you where students like you have been admitted in the past few years, and whether or not those students got any scholarships. They can help you better evaluate your school records. https://educationusa.state.gov/find-advising-center?field_region_target_id=&field_country_target_id=278&field_center_level_value=All

Agree with happymomof1.

Also, what are you hoping to study? And how did that SAT score break out? Are you an 800 on the Math, but 500 on Verbal and Writing because it’s not your first language? The breakdown matters.

Maybe LMU (Loyola Marymount University)?
lots of scholarships, I think. and your SAT score is higher than average there

660 math + 570 + 570. I want to study marketing. Yes, Loyola Marymount University is in my list of universities that I think I will apply for.
