Hello, this fall i will be applying to Duke University in their ED round of admissions. I have just completed junior year i scored an 88 in both AP Physics 1 and AP Calculus BC and then in sophomore year i scored an 87 in Chemistry Honors, the teacher was extremely hard and taught the honors course like an AP and had really hard tests. But in my other courses i scored above 90’s. My overall GPA weighted is 98.72. Will this be a hinderance in the eyes of the admission counselors. Thank You.
Will it be a hindrance? Of course – you’ll be competing against 4.0 students. If your SAT/ACT show great promise, it may alleviate these but all you can do now is to ensure you apply to a broad suite of colleges. Anyone applying ED to Duke must realize this. Good luck.
