If I’m applying for bs next year is it really bad if I had a few B+s for my year end grades? I go to a veryyy competitive public school right now and I know I am going to end the year with a B+ ish in my AP class, a B+ in honors English, and a B+ in math because I didn’t switch down levels quick enough so it’ll average to like an 88. Next year when I apply I’ll be playing 2 varsity sports and taking higher classes in which I will definitely be averaging As but I was just wondering how much it matters because it’s kinda stressing me out and the schools I might apply to are pretty competitive. Sorry for the long message!!
A B+ is not a bad grade.
a B+ isn’t bad and if a school doesn’t take you because of that grade (which is unlikely, it’s a single grade and not a bad one) then they don’t deserve you anyway.
It’s definitely not bad it just may not be as competitive as the grades of others applying! Sorry I should’ve worded it better.
Yeah I was just worried because I will probably have like three Bs.
It all really depends on where you want to go to boarding school and how good all the other elements of your application are. There are lots of boarding schools that happily take students with As and Bs
Definitely thank you! They are more competitve schools.
Ahem, why not apply to some slightly less competitive schools, then?
Across the 3 years I submitted to BS I had a B and a B+ in Spanish and Geometry. I was fine, don’t worry
I had a C in a class and I got accepted into a Top 20, so your fine.
There aren’t a lot around me/the ones that are aren’t really the best fit.
What grade were you applying for if you submitted three years?
I think they may have meant that, across the three years of grades they submitted for their application. For our daughter, we had to supply the current year plus the prior two years’ worth of grades, adding up to three years.
I have 1 B- and I went to a competitive public schools as well. I got 3 acceptance and 2 WL. You will be fine
