Bad-ish first SAT attempts. How much will it hurt?

Hi,

I’m an international student applying RD to Yale. I took the SAT twice and the ACT once, along with two SAT subject tests.

My scores are:
1st SAT attempt; 1950 (I’m ashamed to mention the section-wise scores :-p )
2nd SAT attempt: 2200 (720 CR, 710 M, 770 W)

Only ACT attempt: 34 (34 E, 35 M, 31 R, 35 S)

SAT Subject tests (Only attempted once):
800 Math Level 2, 700 Physics

Now, my grades are really high (we do not have GPAs) and I have been ranking first in my school for the past two years (my grades in English are really high too). I intend to pursue further studies in STEM. I believe that I stand at decent shot a Yale based on my application as a whole.

I was wondering, how much are the SAT attempts going to hurt me? I have already submitted all my scores due to Yale’s score choice policy. Is it going to significantly hurt my application?

Thanks in advance.

No, that’s normal. Yale will be interested in your top scores.

They seem fine- One thing to think about is the STEM part- we were told that 50% of the students that applied were after STEM and that made the competition extremely steep. Its just my opinion but I would apply as undecided and be considered that way rather than compete for a very small percentage of slots in the most competitive area. They do not require you attend for a specific major as a freshman. This may increase your chances slightly.
