Bad marks in 1st and 2nd year

In my first two years of college I did not think about going to graduate school, and did not study hard. Now I have realized my mistake, but I fear that it may be too late for me to remedy the bad GPAs I received in those two years.

Since I transfered from the Engineering Physics program to Computer Engineering, I have to study for an extra half a year, thus taking 4.5 years for my undergrad education. Let’s say I get the following GPAs for the 4.5 years:

Year 1: 3.2
Year 2: 2.8
Year 3: 4.0
Year 4: 4.0
Year 4.5: 4.0

Will I still have a shot at the top 10 and Ivy League schools for an M.Eng. or M.S.? If not, which schools should I aim for?

If anyone can help, I really appreciate it.

I may not be the best person to give you some advice…but as far as i know- Graduate schools generally give more weightage to your performance in the last two years of undergrad…Also the subjects that are directly related to your intended area of study are given more importance…

Thanks for your reply Abso. I hope you are correct. The bad marks I got were mostly from my physics courses, and as soon as I transferred into Computer Engineering, I started to perform much better. I’m looking at doing an MEng in CompEngg or CS so hopefully the adcoms will look more at my CS marks than my physics marks.
