Bad math SAT Scores

Just wondering how much an affect a sub 600 SAT Math score would have on admissions. Other parts of application good. High GPA, great extra-curriculars, leadership etc. and I have good essays. Is there any way (like taking a Math subject test to make up for it)

Thanks!

Take the ACT

It might depend on your major, but drill and retake it if you can.

A math subject test won’t compensate. Drill-and-retake and take the ACT are both good suggestions.

…in other words, it is not good for admissions to such a competitive university to have a math score in the 500s. If you think about it, approx 35-40k applicants get rejected each year…many of these with better stats than that.

Only 4.5% of 2014 acceptances had a sub 600 SAT

Ok thanks guys. Sadly, as I’m an international I can’t take ACT in my country. Will probably take again in October. How late can you have scores for tests sent in??

From my knowledge, if you are applying ED, October or sometimes November is the latest but if you are applying regular, it should be December, maybe January.
Correct me if I’m wrong.
Good Luck

I got in with a 650 - so even raising it a little would help!

From Cornell’s common data set for the Class of 2019 profile:

SAT Math:
42% of all applicants and 55% of the admits had an SAT Math score between 750-800
