Hey guys i just got my scores yesterday… u took math 2 and chemistry. i got 780 in math II( is that good enough ?) but 620 in chem and i had to send the scores since i applied ed. will my chem destroy my app ? here r my other stats :

sat 1 : 2290 (cr+math= 1550)
essays: very good
recos: brilliant
transcript: very good (top 5% of class)
ecs: very good. president of 2 clubs, student council vice president, etc etc.

how important are sat 2s anyway ? isnt 1400 good enough ? should i retake chem ?

thanks ppl.

please help ! im freaking out !!

Your SAT 2s shouldn’t destroy you and your SAT is very good. Know though, that most applicants will be in the top 5% of their class… so while your rank won’t keep you out, it will not get you in. Also know that unless that is a very very limited EC list you have posted, I wouldn’t saying your ECs are “very good”, they may be good, but most Penn admitted students probably are president of a few clubs and on student council (or something similar) IN ADDITION to having lots of other ECs (lots of volunteer work, 1-2 passions that the student has really dedicated himself to, steady job, sports, for example).

You definitely have a shot. I’m assuming you probably do have very good ECs and you just didn’t want to write much, I just wanted to let you know just in case. If your ECs are very good and your recs/essays are as good as you say, I think you have a really good chance at being admitted. You could retake chem, but it won’t be considered for ED so it will only be considered if you are deferred (which could be a good thing, because you can show improvement). It’s your call.

Good luck!
