Is is a bad idea to take the June Sat, without much preparation, just to get a feel for it and get a bad score? But taking intensive summer courses and achive a much higher score? Would a large improvement look bad? Does it even get reported?

I wouldn’t take it. Instead, I’d just do timed practice tests at home to get the feel of it. No sense in wasting $41 for a test you aren’t prepared for.

The ACT has score choice; the SAT does not. In other words, you choose which test date to report for the former; with the latter everything goes. (The only exception is if your school happens to report all the ACT scores in what they send – if so, you can ask that they not do this …)

It would be better to take practice tests at home and prepare before taking the real thing.

Agreed. Don’t take it unprepared. That’s a waste in many ways.

it really depends on what type of student ur- preparation isnt really necessary- suprise urself! (make sure u know the math stuff tho)

would a significant increase in a later test make this test look really bad?
