I am a High School Junior, graduating in Dec 2015. I am Hispanic, and am the first in my family to go to/apply for colleges.
I have a pretty bad GPA, 3.0 UW and a 4.05 W. There is not really any upward trend or improvement, I was just having a difficult time in school, and had a lot of personal issues going on that inflicted with school, and it didn’t help that I was forced to take a lot of honors/AP classes that I wasn’t able to do well in. My SAT is a 1840 with a 720 math and 600 CR., and I got a 27 composite ACT. My high school rank is at about 35-40%, but my school is pretty big and kind of competitive. I also don’t have many EC or special awards, so that is a big problem as well. Since I’m graduating soon I don’t think there is much(if any) room for improvement on my GPA, but I am planning to retake the SAT next month. I am a TX resident and am looking at schools to apply to in the fall, but im worried that my GPA will drive away a lot of colleges. I really want to go out of state but im not sure if ill be able to with my stats.
I want to go for a Clinical Lab Sciences Major, or Microbiology/ Medical Microbiology.
Some schools I am looking at:
Texas A&M
University of Arizona
Michigan State
Mizzou
TX state
What are my chances of getting in to these schools, and what are some other colleges that you guys can suggest to me(whether in state or out of state) that would fit my stats.
Thanks.
