Whenever I take practice tests, when I answer the question I almost always flip to the back of the book immediately afterwards to see if I got the answer right. I’m really trying to stop and feel that it may be inflating my scores a bit because it prevents me from guessing. I don’t really know if this is hurting me at all, and I was curious to know if anyone else here does it. It’s actually kind of hard for me to just stop altogether, because I get a bit nervous if I don’t check the answer right away…

Yes that is a bad way to study. What you need to do simulate the exact situation you would have in the test room. I know, it’s tempting for me too sometimes to quickly flip to the back of the book to check it. But you need to time yourself as well to make sure that you are within the given time limit. Pausing the timer and flipping to the back of the book disturbs the concentration and is ineffective.

What you could do is rip the answer out and then give them to your parents or something and tell them to hold on to them until you’re done with the test.
