I have also applied to Purdue, Tamu(COE) and I will apply to OSU, wisconsin, penn state.

GT is my dream college and I really want to go there. If I don’t get admission there, should retake SAT and apply in the spring term or should I just join another university and transfer later. If it is the latter, can I transfer in spring, or do i need to complete a full year.

Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance

The answer is simple unless your family is extremely wealthy…As a parent I would tell my child to pick another college. You can always try to transfer if you still have the urge to attend GT and don’t like the other college. Don’t wait to start your career. The other colleges you selected are great schools. Good luck!

What do u mean by the first sentence? Why do i have to be wealthy to wait till spring? Could u please elaborate as I am still not very sure about the US college system. And thanks a lot for the reply.

If you have the money to hold off and start your college career and you have the drive to finish after the delay then waiting would be acceptable. Waiting and finding something that will help your career later would be great. Maybe volunteer overseas or shadow an engineer in a field that interests you or internship. Find something a prospective employer would look at and see that you would be a great employee and fit into their organization.

Many kids that drop out or delay with college never go back or at least go into the field they wanted initially. I am speaking in general i don’t know you or your situation.

good luck
