Balancing Tests, Homework, and Medical

I need to get work done on my eyes within a week. I can either do it today or next week. Afterwards, I’ll be blind for three days. I’m starting two homeworks that are due Saturday and Monday and a test on Wednesday and Thursday. If I do the surgery today, I’ll stay current with homework and tests, but will do mediocrely on all. If I do surgery next week, I’ll be able to focus on homework, but will push both tests back a week, creating a heavier week of catchup.

I don’t even know how to think about this. Should I ask my instructors on their thoughts? I feel guilty because I’ve had medical disruptions to these classes already.

Try to not feel guilty about things outside of your control, like surgery. I would talk to the professors.

Talk to your professors and see if they can make arrangements for you to take a make-up exam – offer to provide a doctor’s note.
