band or sports?

which one do you think college looks better?

and is there any way to do both of them?

Doesn’t matter, do what you like, but stay dedicated to it.

Yes.

^agreed. 10char

what is 10char?

Yes, they both require committment and you should do whichever one you enjoy most.

CC has a 10 character limit on posts, so people add “10char” to make their short responses long enough.

But yeah, do band if you like it, do a sport if you like it. You can easily do both - I know plenty of people who play 2-3 sports and are in band.

thank you guys.

so, how can i play in marching perfomance if i am football player?

thats not going to work lol… if you play football you cant march in the game your supposed to be playing in

You can’t play in marching band and play football - that’s the only instance where both can’t be done.

At my school, football players are exempt from the marching band requirement. They only play in symphonic or concert band (whatever your school calls the band that meets during school as a class and plays concerts). Shouldn’t be a problem.

In our band we have had football players on the marching band if they want to do it. Freshman and JV football do not pose a problem. The one who made it to varsity had an agreement with the band director that he would play football on Friday night and march with the band on Saturdays in our competitions.

you probably heard this like thousands of times but don’t do extracurricular activities for the sake of lookin good on the college admission. Do what you really love to do and do more of those

Which do you like more? Which ever you pick, that is the better one.

^ Actually, it also depends on the subject’s school value, for lack of better words. At my school, our band is pitifully small and rarely plays at official functions, whereas being on our swimming or volleyball team means that you’re one of the best in the state. Colleges may take that into consideration.

I would say do whichever you like more and which one you are better at… if there both the same then go for football

Band is huge commitment, especially if your school band has a competition season following football so it might be very difficult to do both. Pick whatever you like best since both require dedication and sacrifice.
