Bang for your buck: CPSLO vs SDSU

Okay, so I live in San Diego, close enough to SDSU to live at home during college which could save a lot of money. But CPSLO is an awesome school, although I’d have to pay more considering living there. So basically, do you guys and girls think it’s worth going to a school like CPSLO over SDSU even though it would cost me lot more? My mom claims it’s not, because she doesn’t want me to be in the same situation as her and be paying off loans all my life. I’m looking at Mechanical Engineering by the way.

Thanks!

Bumpitty???

I would choose SLO because it is known for it’s engineering programs. Also keep in mined that SDSU is super crowded and it is not uncommon for people to take up to 6 yrs to graduate. SDSU might end up being more expensive than slo. visit sdsu and talk to the students.

I attended SDSU in the early 80’s… and it was impacted then. I left when as a Senior, I couldn’t get any of my classes. It’s a fun school… Me and seven other guys started a chapter of the Greek Fraternity, Sigma Alpha Mu. So there are some plus’s to the opportunities presented at that school. But when you consider housing is a good $12K a year, it’s worth spending a year or two extra if you can live local (parents house). I’d choose SDSU hands down given your situation.
