Banneker/Key Interviews

How did the interviews for Banneker/Key go—(I think March 9 was the first of 3 sessions scheduled)…

anyone???

They were lame.

Really boring and tame questions :P

I tried to spice it up though.

what exactly did they ask about. was everyone really formal. did you go the whole day?

Whole dayish. Mmm. During lunch the lady who was speaking basically tells you the questions asked in advance! After lunch you can head over to Anne Arundel house and talk/chill/get tours… the interviews will be going on all day so you can pop back in to do it, just arrive 10ish mins early.

Honestly, I’d suggest that if you’ve been to CP before, after lunch just roam campus with some friends or call some people you konw on campus and hang out. It’s what I did… and its better than sitting in Anne Arundel bored out of your mind - especially cuz some of the kids there were… ummm

strange.

There was ice cream.

I basically stood and talked with a friend of mine who went to a different high school for about two hours. After lunch, you can pretty much do watever you want until your interview.

“There was ice cream.”

welcome to the umd honors program :stuck_out_tongue: there’s ice cream at EVERYTHING.

Haha, yeah. My friend Aimee showed up to help with the panel, and I was like, “There’s ice cream.” She said, “Of course there’s ice cream. We’re Honors–it’s what we do.”

I <3 Maryland ice cream. Midnight madness…mmmm. And strawberry. Mmm.

I’ll be at the luncheon (11:30) and second panel (2:00 AA) again this Friday. Again, we’ll be in the red honors T-shirts. I’ll be the Asian one lol.

so uhh, would wearing a buttoned down collared shirt without a tie be not formal enough?

The Dairy = awesome.

my interview went well. Very basic questions from my application? where do I see myself 10 years from now ? favorite movie?

Good luck to those going today–I’ll see you in the Grand Ballroom (not Colony Ballroom as originally planned). I’ll be the Asian guy in the red honors shirt who really needs a haircut. I’ll be on the 2:00 panel in the AA basement, so feel free to call me out and ask a ridiculous question. Please. I’ll be funny, I promise.

Thanks for your help and good info yesterday, somebodynew…it was good to meet you. Other than the weather, the day was great! Hope your spring break goes great… !
