Barack Obama Jumps the Shark?

If the facts were entirely opposite: Meaning, it was Obama who finished 6th from the bottom at one of the service academies, and McCain who graduated at the top of Harvard Law, and was elected President of the prestigious Harvard Law Review, you had better bet your Elephant bath tube squeeky toy that Bz would be singing an entirely different tune.

And that tune would be (1st Verse): "See? It was only due to Affirmative Action that Obama was even admitted to the Naval Academy, and he was barely able to cut it, having graduated at the very bottom of his class. He even admits that he was a mediocre student, for pete’s sake! Whereas McCain has clearly shown superior intellect, having graduated at the top of his class from the Nation’s most prestigious and rigorous law school. These facts alone, clearly show who is most qualified for POTUS.

Refrain: POTUS is not an Affirmative Action position. McCain is the brain! McCain is the brain!

Having just reread “Animal Farm,” I think poetsheart is onto something about … “Four legs good! Two legs bad! Four legs good! Two legs bad!”

Just repeat it enough times and it becomes a fact.

Poetsheart–you are probably onto something. So I am glad that the situations are indeed the reverse. The campaign would definitely have had an ugly undercurrent to it, much uglier than “McCain isn’t smart enough or young enough to run the country.”

bz: the most important feature of the Lexington Project is McCain’s flipflop on offshore drilling.

I was going to write Next?, but I am absolutely convinced that nothing will convince you that McCain’s is short on policy details (and please don’t invoke Lieberman, we’re not voting for him).

ph - I’m really amazed that you presume to speak for me in that way.

It’s particularly amusing in light of the fact that I have not been the one to bring up class standing in the first place. All I’ve done is try to inform people about what class standing at USNA actually entails & how it is not anywhere on the same metric as a civilian college.

It’s pretty lame to conjure up a hypothetical and then attempt to compose something you think I would say (sing? give me a break!).

Furthermore, if Obama HAD finished at the bottom of his class at a Service Academy, I would be “singing” HIS praises b/c I know just what a demanding environment it is and how many don’t make it thru. I would also give him a LOT of credit for even choosing to attend a SA in the first place, especially if that choice was followed by a 20 -I would also point out how “Obama” at a SA would’ve garnered superior Leadership training at his school.

Yes, if it HAD been Obama at USNA, I would absolutely be praising that over McCain at a civilian school.

That post has got to be the most non-sensical, fallacious & presumptuous things I have ever seen on CC!

You think THAT’S the “most important feature”??

Okay, bz. If you say so…:p

ph - how old are you?

Bet your baby pics are in color! :)

Ha, ha! Nope. 51 years old.
