This is the official discussion thread for Bard College of 2028 Early & RD applicants. Ask your questions and connect with fellow applicants.
The title of this thread should read 2028 (not 2027), right?
@JBess12, yes, I updated it now. Thanks!
Still waiting!
Same!
Looks like they sent them out on 3/22 last year. But it feels so late right now!
It does feel late. Sounds like it could be any day now if it was 3/22 last year. Thanks for that info. Hopefully it’ll be very soon and good news!
My student received waitlist notification today.
My two kids got status-update emails today; both got in while being rejected from Washu. More schools tomorrow and Saturday. I hope you all have good news!
Hi! I was waitlisted too! Last Friday, I was emailed to complete the CSS form; wondering if that means anything. Have they received any other information?
Hi! Sorry I’m so late in responding. I haven’t been logging in here much because there’s not a lot of activity on this thread.
Have you heard anything more? My student has not yet. Did you complete the CSS profile? I know Bard requires it. Also, did they reach out to you to ask you to do it? Financial aid processes are very behind this year so they may not be to that point yet.
My student submitted supplemental materials after being waitlisted. We’re very anxious because it’s his #1 choice of college. How about you?
If you know anything about the timing of admitting waitlisted applicants, please share! Thank you
Yes, they emailed me to complete the CSS because I forgot originally. Ive called Bard a few times asking about the waitlist. They said people will start coming off the waitlist late April but mostly early May. I recommend calling as they said it shows continued interest!
Waitlist activity is unpredictable. My own child was offered places from the WL at two colleges (different colleges, she didn’t apply to Bard.) One offer came on May 2, the other offer came July 3. Summer melt, in which students decide to attend another college due to WL offers, or defer, or not attend at all, is the main reason why it can take a long time to hear back from colleges about WL activity. If they only need to fill a few seats, WL activity can be very slow. Another college my D was WL’ed at sent a letter to say there would be no one taken from WL.
If your child is very interested, they should communicate via email or phone call every three weeks or so. If they have new info to share, such as a new job or an award, they can send a short email, stating their continued interest and that Bard is their #1 choice.
Thank you! My student did email and they said they were hoping to notify all by May 1, but that he might not hear anything until a few days after that. They also said, thank you for writing, we will let the admissions committee know that you did.
Thank you for the advice! And hope you get good news soon!
Thank you! I wish us both luck!
Have you heard anything yet?
