Bard vs. Trinity (Hartford) vs. Rollins

Hey there,
I am a senior and will be graduating in the fall of 2015. I am studying in a boarding school in India with the AP curriculum. I changed schools for my Junior and Senior year and had 5 AP classes. My GPA had a big dip in my junior year but I’m trying to make it up in my senior year. I scored a 92% in my 10th grade board exams. I want to join a small college in the states and even though Bard and Trinity would be reaches for me, would not applying for financial aid help me in having better chances there? and also the Early Action/ Decision? Which is better for Computer Science? I am kind of sure about CS as my major but I would prefer a liberal arts college in case I want to change in my freshmen year.
any help would be appreciated. :)

These are an odd threesome. What made you pick them? The three schools are quite different. If you’re not looking for financial aid then you have a huge number of choices. Computer Science will generally be stronger in a larger school - and going to a larger school doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t change your major. You probably can save some money by looking at some of the public universities, as well. I am a parent of a Bard alumni and very supportive of the college but I do feel you should do some more research when creating your list. What exactly are you looking for in a college? What kind of environment, of peers, of professors, and the physical environment itself? Is money truly no object?

You don’t need a liberal arts college if you might want to change your major. Almost any 4 yr will do. In fact, the larger the college the easier it is to change majors unless the major is impacted.

These are unusual schools to choose for CS. Do you have a rationale?

trinity is in a bad area
