I am a current senior at high school and have been accepted to both Barnard College and NYU Steinhardt.
However, I am having a really difficult time deciding between the two…
Barnard has the affiliation to Columbia, but I am worried about this whole relationship, as I have heard that Barnard students are looked down upon…
NYU has a really cool campus, but is it true that it is less prestigious than Barnard? Is prestige/the ranking even an important factor?

I was recently accepted to Barnard and NYU but I ended up choosing Barnard 2020!!! I guess my opinion is a bit biased but I have friends who go to barnard and they said that the being looked down on thing doesn’t essentially matter nor does it happen that often because at the end of the day, you’re all taking mostly the same classes with the same professors. Your education is what’s important not what other people think about it. Nevertheless, they’re both great schools and I hope you choose the one that’s best for you.
