<p>when they rank barnard they do it without including any of columbia’s resources. this is obviously inaccurate because columbia is such a huge part of barnard. i’ve seen other rankings that includes the university resources as a whole and they’ve consistently placed barnard in the top 5.</p>
<p>It may have to do with USN&WR’s methodology. While Barnard has a higher selectivity than some of the other seven sister colleges, it has a small endowment. $150Million compared to Smith and Wellesley which have over $1Billion (Or at least they did prior to the recession) This is part of what ak2637 is saying.</p>
