Can I assume that I won’t get off the waitlist considering I have financial need?
I got an email on Monday afternoon, saying that they added my LOCI to my application file and it will be considered if they can admit students from the waitlist. But, I haven’t received a call or email from them. Did anyone get admitted from the waitlist in the past few days? If so, when did you send your LOCI/when did you get their confirmation email?
i sent my letter on march 22nd and i have yet to receive a call!
I guess those of us who require financial aid should not expect to get a call… very sad to realize that my dream school may no longer be a real option. Others on the waitlist, please keep updating on your status if possible. I hope that those of us who have financial need may be able to attend Barnard… 
In the meantime, I am submitting my deposit to another school if nothing changes with my status in the next few days.
We don’t know how these colleges are going to do waitlists! We could get off, it’s too early to give up. There’s always a chance, we just don’t know how slim it is now

I wouldn’t discount the possiblity of getting off the waitlist with financial need. If that was an automatic bar to getting off the waitlist, I would imagine they wouldn’t put anyone with a financial aid application on the list and would just reject outright.
Some schools offer spots off of the waitlist all the way into June, and that’s during a normal year. Definitely too early to give up hope. I would definitely recommend submitting a deposit to another school in the meantime. (That’s also Barnard’s recommendation in their FAQ.) Some schools have a refundable deposit, too. Check w your school to be sure.
I did not apply for financial aid, and sent in my LOCI on 4/15. I really hope I get off the waitlist - it is absolutely my number one choice! Should I email admissions asking for an update?
I think that they’ll start another wave of taking people off the list around May 1st, so if you don’t hear from them until after that an email won’t hurt!

I heard from my counselor today and I got off the waitlist today!! I sent in a LOCI on April 16 and they said they put it in my file 5 days later. I didn’t apply for financial aid and my stats are: unweighted 92 gpa, 33 act. My LOCI was about what I’ve been doing over the pandemic and things I realized. They didn’t mention it over the call though

@dinosaurgeek23 I didn’t apply for financial Aid. I hate that they are need aware esp during a time where everyone is struggling financially
I also got off the waitlist yesterday! I sent in my letter April 19th and in my call my counselor did mention reading it.
