Two of my friends got off Barnard’s waitlist late April while another got off Cornell’s, and I’m still sitting here 
Looks like Barnard doesn’t need anybody, but is keeping the WL open just in case. This is the email I got from them after sending them an update: “ As of now, the waitlist is still open and there are no updates. Though there is no set date for the waitlist to close, all candidates on the list will be sent an update if that changes. We will be in touch with you directly should we be able to admit you from the waiting list”
This means we should be looking at other schools, the chance of barnard accepting is like zero
I’m honestly really upset rn because going to Barnard was my dream and I don’t think they’ll accept me at this point. I really don’t like my safety rn, so I feel miserable bc I think all the waitlists are closing at this point. Websites say that Barnard’s waitlist period is early May to early June so oh well ):
they sent me an email the other day and they emailed me “Thank you for your email and continued interest in Barnard College! We have added this update to your application file and it will be considered if we are able to admit students from the waitlist.” So… I’m trying to stay positive and hopeful in these uncertain times :’)
Barnard’s been off lol, my counselor sent an email one month ago and they just sent back an email telling him they received the letter and will put it in my application

@goose247 I guess it’s fine, they haven’t said anything in awhile, but they’re still taking in additional material.
I know a couple people who aren’t going to Barnard anymore but committed after getting off the waitlist, so there is still hope for some of you! Stay positive! Good luck!
Worst case, love the school you are committed to and make the most of your time there!

Yeah, you can un-commit if you get off a waitlist and decide to attend.

? Nope. Columbia sent me an email last week releasing me from their waitlist but I haven’t received anything from Barnard.
