Barrons book vs real life

I am taking the act for the first time Saturday and I sat down and did the science and math section in a barrons book. I got 3 wrong on math which would convert to a 35 and 4 wrong on science. the Barrons book says that 4 wrong on science gives me a 34 on the section but I saw many graphs that say that 4 wrong is a 29. That is a huge difference and I just wanted to know which one is right? I think the science section was pretty hard but I have to basis to compare it to because that was my first one.

4 wrong on the science section is definitely not a 29. I think it is somewhere in 31-32. I feel one should never start with other prep books but the Real ACT red book. Other books are just for extra practice.
