Barry Bonds

So the speculation is (a la Rove) that Bonds will be indicted. What do you all think? Should he be? If he is, should he be forced to sit out till resolved? What if he is convicted? A little fun speculation as a lighter diversion.

I think he is the greatest baseball player who ever lived.

What about Clinton? ;)

I don’t think he can be forced to sit down, I don’t think there’s a law that says just cause you are indicted you can’t earn a living.

Barry’s battles with the Thing were legendary.

they couldn’t stop him from playing baseball.

But if Barry did indeed use steroids, that’s just like using cocaine or meth, though i don’t think they can bust him for that unless they find some in his personal posession. they have a much better case with the purgery charge.

Of ALL the issues, it still amazes me congress spent time on this…

As an SFO girl, eh, who cares, sports players shouldn’t use steroids because kids copy their idols, coaches push it, and its always bigger is better, but with regards to lying, aren’t there bigger fish to fry?

Just makes me sad

What about Clinton?

You know, Mini, through a six degrees of separation thing, I could probably introduce you and I hope it’d be good for you!

It’s part of a much larger investigation of some pretty serious criminal activity.

To a degree, but why did CONGRESS need to get involved…we have missing money in Iraq, contractors who can’t account for billions spent, cost overruns, etc…to me, that is pretty important as well…but doesn’t appear that there is any interest on the Republican’s side in checking out that

When we were dropping cash in Iraq willy nilly, eh…when companies we are contracting out to don’t give our troops decent food, eh…but when a few people missue Katrina money, bamm…we get em…

Just seems a skewed sense of priorities, when we are occupying a country, and there is no accountability, and don’t say “national security”-- we are talking about billions of dollars that we have NO idea how it was spent and have little to show for it in many cases

Let’s talk about what’s right in baseball–

I enjoyed watching all the new kids excelling at the All Star Game–and none seem to have bulging foreheads.

I’m especially enjoying this year, as a long-suffering Mets fan, watching our great young players, especially David Wright and Jose Reyes, play with unbridled enthusiasm, great work ethics, unfailingly good manners, and overall, a demonstration of the real joy of the game.

Can’t wait for the World Series (even if the NL managed to throw away home field advantage again.)

If you’re referring to Halliburton, they lost their contract and an investigation is ongoing but not yet concluded. Isn’t that an appropriate response? Seriously. If you see a problem, don’t you address it and then move on to the next thing?

After the Mets opening day game in Washington this year David Wright made the comment that he was “thrilled to meet Vice President Cheney”. Will New York City lefties (not the baseball kind) look the other way because it’s expedient to do so, or will they end up giving him the Lieberman treatment? Politics has a way of trumping everything with certain city guys and city gals.

Oh you’re one of THOSE. (Just kidding)

Go Yankees!!!

“If you’re referring to Halliburton, they lost their contract and an investigation is ongoing but not yet concluded. Isn’t that an appropriate response?”

I would have thought robbing U.S. soldiers of needed services in Iraq would be a little bit more serious than that.

You are NOT kidding. Boy you should have seen the protesters at the last republican convention. They were pretty wild. Actually, some lefties here are pretty outrageous all the time. I have heard, however, that righties can be totally out of control in predominantly red areas, so I guess it’s all about what you think you can get away with.

Oh, you’re one of those! (You guys never can win enough, can you?):)

Browninfall–you have got to be kidding!

I would have thought robbing U.S. soldiers of needed services in Iraq would be a little bit more serious than that

In my universe, ongoing investigations often bring prosecution. I think that would be appropriate if, well, appropriate.

What would you suggest, lynching?

Barring Halliburton from ALL government contracts pending outcome of investigations would seem to be a very reasonable start.

congress may be wasting its time on baseball, but at least its doing something at actually has weight and will result in real law.

Take the NON-BINDING resolution to remove troops from Iraq. It’s just that, NON-BINDING. Even if it passed, it wouldnt mean anything. They spent weeks debating something that won’t even be a law. Basically, they wasted their own time and tons of taxpayer money in the form of their salaries.

Ya know, I never even thought of that. Hmmmm. Food for thought.
