Baseball Playoffs

Well Atlanta just clinched the NL east. Thoughts for the rest of the season?

Go Tribe!

Sox all the way

Go Red Sox!

Glad to hear the news @jym626. That means I’ll be meeting my son in Atlanta for a playoff game. Go Braves!

Dodgers still fighting just to get in. Great sweep of the Rockies, then lost the opener to lowly San Diego. We’ll see, but if they get into the playoffs, I wouldn’t bet against them.

Let’s Go Oakland!

Cubs will get there. They just came off of a 30 day streak of games, this past Thursday was their first day off in a month. They went 18-11 and then fell flat against the white sox yesterday.

I went to a Cubs Dodgers game in LA in June. After that game (which the Cubs won) I will agree with the ABD fans sentiment. The team is fine. There was absolutely no reason for the booing that the fans did before the game even started.

Cue the Dodger haters…because nobody hates a losing team. :-@ #gododgers!

My deepest condolences, @sushiritto – dark days in Giants-land. Then again, you’ve had enough joy in the last decade to last a lifetime.

Re: Dodgers - my main man Hyun-Jin Ryu pitched six shutout innings and went 3 for 3 at the plate today. He’s hitting .292 on the season, and he even had to run the bases to the delight of all.

Re: Cubs - Sorry to hear about Brandon Morrow. Really like that guy.

Looks like the Brewers will be in this year. The starting pitching isn’t that great but the lineup is pretty strong and relief pitching (Hader, Jeffress) is outstanding. So if the Crew can keep it close into the 6th inning, watch out! Fear the Beer!!! Suck it, Cubs!

@marvin100 it’s OK, we still have the triplets (2010, 2012 and 2014). And there’s always 4 out of 5 NBA championships to revel in when the Warriors win another in June 2019. <:-P

Go Tribe!

Re: Brandon Morrow- I know we shouldn’t laugh, but… http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/ct-spt-cubs-bizarre-injuries-brandon-morrow-20180620-story.html

@prezbucky if the Brew Crew can knock the Cardinals out in the wild card game I will ignore your Cubs comment.

@marvin100 yes, Morrow is missed. The sign of a good team, though, is to be able to win anyway. And, the Cubs have been winning anyway with 5 or more core people on the DL or hurt and going day to day with most days off.

Go Tribe Go!

@bajamm - agreed. That said, the Dodgers have been the 3rd most impacted team due to injuries (highest of the probably playoff teams) and the Cubs have been 24th: https://www.rosterresource.com/mlb-disabled-list-tracker/
