Based on the essay what score would you give 1-12?

Today many young people spend their time developing one special talent. But such devotion to a single special ability or skill, whether in the arts, in sports, or in any other area, may not be a good idea. While the challenge of becoming an expert is exciting and can lead to extraordinary rewards, narrowly focusing one’s efforts limits new experiences and meaningful interactions with people who have other interests.

Assignment: Should young people focus their efforts on developing just one talent? Plan and write an essay in which you develop your point of view on this issue. Support your position with reasoning and examples taken from your reading, studies, experience, or observations.

Every person has a talent. Many people have to go through to find which talent suits them. If people just stuck to one talent, then they will never be able to access their full potential. Young people should focus on one talent is untrue, and harmful. People who develop their talents, and try different experiences becomes more successful. This will be shown true with historical, literary, and person support.
In the story “The many Colors” by Greg Miller, the main character goes through many trials, and test until he finds his specific calling. Josh drops out of high school in order to support his family until becomes 18, then he leaves his house in order to find opportunities. Josh is a starts off a carpenter, painter, store employee, and a priest. After failing at all these jobs he goes on to start his own business as a hardware store. He quickly found that he was a very good businessman, and he slowly started more, and more businesses. After a few years he become one of the richest men in America. The author Greg delineates Josh as a man who tried to open to many locked doors until he found one that swung open. If Josh had stuck with farming his whole life then he would have been able to reach his full potential. Josh didn’t focus on one specific talent just as young people shouldn’t.
One of the most influential men during the Civil Rights Movement was Martin Luther King Jr. During Mr. King’s early life he worked as a store employee A&P, and he then became a priest. The man whose speech felt as though a sermon, and his words are held in reverence started as a regular store employee. It’s thanks to Mr. King’s decision that we became closer to having racial equality in America. If Mr. King had stayed a store employee would the Civil Rights Movement been as successful as they were? Mr. King didn’t stay constant, and stick to one place. He moved on, until he found his place. If we are to follow in Mr. Kings footsteps, surely we should keep moving on.
When the famous Russian politician, Jakobvich Nicholas said “The sharpest swords cannot be made from a single clay” he means that the best item is not made from the same material. In order to get the sharpest sword a person must use a blend of materials. Some of the strongest swords in history were hybrids that were made from maybe only 50% steel. Nicholas’s quote was used as a symbol for my class’s science experiment. We were sitting in a computer lab with I interactive simulation. Our goal was let our species survive until the end of the game. Most people that used the same species without crossing it with another species, lost the game really early. At the end of the timeframe only two people’s species had survived, both of which were crossbred with many other species. Just like animals, and swords the most successful person is the person with the richest background. The more experience they have, or the more skills they have the more successful they are.

All of these examples are fake I just want to know if they seem real, and what scores do you think that i might get.

Well SAT is tomorrow wish me luck :-*

Might be too late but I’d give this a 9. Everything is solid except you have pretty bad grammar throughout the essay which is really the only prominent flaw. Also, be sure to add a conclusion, aside from that those things this essay was pretty decent.
