Basic questions help!

Hi, I have three basic questions here. Please help me figure them out. I’ll briefly describe my questions and thanks in advance for any help! :)

1) Is it necessary to join the mailing list of which college you want to transfer? I want to know the recent information about my target colleges, but I don’t want to receive a lot of viewbooks as applying for the freshman year. So generally, will colleges send viewbooks to transfer applicants?

2) Are greek club activities counted into extracurriculars? The greek life is a huge part of activity in my college. But I’m not sure whether I’m really passionate at it. However, I’ll try to get in the greek club if it can make my ECs terrific.

3) Do you need to declare major in the whole transfer process? i.e. declare major in the why transfer essay or forms from Commonapp.

Thank you again for your time!

It’s not usually necessary, but it wouldn’t hurt to do it right?

Usually they are. In particular Phi Theta Kappa.

Declaring your major depends on the college. For example, in Boston College, when you are transferring, they told me that the school in the college you apply to is the school you are stuck with. You can’t transfer to another school. However, there are some colleges that allow you to change. It particularly depends on the college.

Thans dorky24! :)
