Bath salts: a public menace.

Ok, I get that I am naive in some areas- but * bath salts*? really?
My grocery store sells this in bulk & I love it for my fibromyalgia.

How do people even find out about this stuff?

I’m with you, EK. Who would think of this?

Terrible tragedy, especially for the little boy.

They aren’t “bath salts”. And the craze passed late last year - most drug users find them unattractive.

The real drug menace is heroin (spurred on by addiction to prescription opioids).

It’s not just any bath salts, it’s a drug being sold as bath salts, often legally because it is very new and has not been classified yet in many states. It’s being sold on the DL because if people knew the real effects it would be instantly illegal.

Anyone who does drugs will not like these. I have heard they create a very undesirable high but they are also very addictive. I haven’t heard of so much violence coming from a drug before.

What do you think drives a person to take anything that makes them feel different, even if that feeling is bad? I simply have never understood why some people will put absolutely anything in their bodies. Either they’re consumed with self-hatred or feel so bad normally that any change is an improvement. Or is it a kind of thrill-seeking, a kick from flirting with the danger of what might happen? Weird.

I think it’s more used by people who can’t get access to other drugs for whatever reason (think teenagers who eat vast amounts of nutmeg or smoke banana peels or whatever).
