Well, I came on to this website as a freshman searching for college information as my friends’ parents were always freaking out about getting the right stats/grades. My parents are both UCLA ulumni so they know some about college, but they are totally oblivous to getting in to college. So basically I have forced myself to get good grades on my own and acquire the right test scores.<br>
Since you are all educated on the whole admissions thing, can you please help me out with my chances.
I’ve already applied to UCLA, Cal, UCSD, UCD, and UCSB.
Just handed in my Stanford app yesterday.
I’m almost done with Amherst, Harvard, and Dartmouth.</p>
<p>Senior at Northern Cal Public High School (Good scores, not great)
Weighted GPA- 4.43
UC GPA- 4.34
UW- 3.96
ACT- 31, but my best scores are:
Math- 35
Science- 35
Reading- 33
English- 28
which makes a 33 composite (1460 equivalent)
Hopefully, I can get my good scores together on last saturday’s ACT test

- Ball boy experience- coaching and training a team of 8 teenagers- How they look up to me and how we were recognized for an awesome performance by the chair umpire/coordinator
I received the Jim Zimmerman nominee (chance to ball boy for US open for two weeks) twice, and hopefully I will get it this year
Yet, I said that I don’t need that award to be happy with what I have done already</p>
<p>2) Anesthetic Research- Testing the effects of Bupivacaine, Lidocaine, and Mepivacaine in various mixtures individually and together on DH5alpha bacteria resistant to Ampicilllin and Kanamycin.
Work with scientists at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory </p>
<p>3) Experience in Operating Room- had a chance to learn directly from anesthesiologists at harborview hospital in seattle- realized I wanted to become an anesthesiologist
Want to follow footsteps of grandpa (wrote anesthesia text book for college, started UCI med school, was chairman of World Board of Anesthesiology, and Stanford grad) and greatgrandpa (Excelled the anesthesiology department at UCSF as chairman and later became Dean of UCSF Medical School)</p>
<p>4) Surfing Experience- How I have grown through my passion</p>
<p>I’m not the greatest writer, but I think I put across the right messages in them.</p>
<p>Also, I got a great professional rec from my grandpa really showing who I am.</p>
<p>My principal loves my personality and says I am the most well-rounded kid he has seen at my high school.</p>
<p>I know I’m competing with amazing people, but hopefully I have a chance.</p>
