Same here, but I’m assuming it’s because I didn’t submit test scores…although, I know that someone else who didn’t submit test scores that had similar stats as I did got the $92,000. My mom called and asked, and she said it’s based off of FAFSA too, so that could have something to do with it.
Yeah I did submit FAFSA/CSS and my EFC is high (i would not receive financial aid from any college)… maybe that’s why … I’m from TX so there’s probably an overrepresentation haha. Thanks for the insight!
Baylor was test blind for merit scholarships this year
Is anyone else out there still waiting for their Financial Aid package? There is nothing in my D’s portal or on Bear Web detailing any financial aid awards beyond her scholarship/merit award. I’m just wondering if anyone else is also waiting to hear what they received (loans or otherwise.) Thank you!
I only got my merit aid, my financial aid is still being processed is what a financial aid officer told my dad when he called.
My daughter was accepted at Baylor Premiere in October (I think), and she just got her aid letter last week. I’m not sure when you were accepted, but that was a 3 month wait for us. The waiting isn’t fun.
My daughter was told that even though you could submit your scores, they didn’t factor into scholarships. In past years they were directly related. It’s now “organic” and based on your over-all transcript/resume. My daughter had higher test scores and almost identical GPA as a friend, but her friend had more volunteer hours and leadership on her resume. My daughter got $72k and her friend got $92k.
Yes, my daughter was also accepted at Baylor Premiere in Oct., so I think this all falls into the realm of normal timing, although it is a long wait to be sure! But when I saw “mid-January” I kind of panicked, and worried we missed something. I’m sure we will get news on it soon enough. Thank you!
Thank you. I figure that’s what is happening to us too. It’s just a waiting game.
So if you weren’t offered any merit aid with your initial acceptance (my D was accepted at the beginning of Dec) does that mean you have no shot of getting any? Baylor is a very exciting target option for my D but we’re from CT and looking at travel costs on top of everything else with no merit.
Anyone know when they will announce the I2E scholarship recipients from the first round?
@iluvnaples I think I saw somewhere it is around Feb 15, but someone please correct me if I’m wrong
My OOS son just heard an hour ago by email, ACCEPTED! yay!
Hi all, my daughter just checked the status and she got accepted to Baylor. It states about academic scholarship. How about the need based financial aid?
Same situation, I just see merit award.
@CollegeBoundBrit thanks for the info. I was thinking it might be earlier since they have 2 different dates for the I2E, and in the past notified participants of each event separately (earlier event=earlier notification). Will have to wait and see.
We just received the financial aid award/loan today. My daughter was notified by email, which gave her a link to view it.
That’s great. My daughter had applied under regular decision. Do you think it will take more time for her to receive the package? Did you get good need based aid?
I think it will take a bit longer for you, as we waited nearly 3 months from the time of her acceptance in Oct. While she received nice merit, we only got a small loan for Financial Aid. My husband was unemployed this year, which would not be reflected in the 2019 tax info Baylor reviewed, so we are appealing. Sorry it’s not better news.
Thanks for the reply.
