They just went up around half an hour ago (although the housing portal seems to be crashing for lots of people with everyone on it).

Is anyone still waiting to receive their Housing email? My daughter still has not received hers as of this morning

I got mine this morning (well, morning for me - around 1 AM Waco time). I wouldn’t worry; on the Brooks College group chat, some girls got emails a few hours before me, some after me, and some are still waiting so your daughter isn’t the only one. As long as your D can access her housing portal, she’ll be able to see what community she’s in. The only individual info you get from the email is your slot for Choose Your Own Room and there seems to be no rhyme or rhythm to when emails go out and whether you get an early or a late CYOR slot so I wouldn’t worry if you haven’t gotten the email yet

Thank you! That is reassuring.

My D found a hack and it says she was awarded/given a First-Year Community, which was her first choice. However, I heard from another parent that the email delay is coming from a mistake on Baylor’s end, which they are fixing and a second email will get issued to confirm what community you were given. I just hope to have this all buttoned up today!

Yeah, there were lots of incorrect emails going out where the email was different to the portal (the emails were incorrectly listing what a person had listed as their first choice instead of their assigned community). I’m sure they’re carefully checking each email before they send em out.

That’s awesome your daughter got FYE! There’s already about 50 people on the FYE waitlist so v popular this year

Go to the housing portal and select the roommate matching tab. Then go through to the last page and the assigned community will be displayed.

That’s weird. Maybe try going through your goBaylor portal. If you click on ‘make changes’ under ‘submit your housing application’, does it bring you up to a page with a list of tabs saying ‘home’, ‘housing application’, ‘roommate matching’ etc?

That’s how she did it.

@Xanthous1 Someone told her this:

  • go through “GoBaylor”
  • expand the “Submit your housing Application” tab.
  • Then click on the green link that says “Make Changes.”
  • Click on Community Waitlist
  • It should show your planned entry year. Hit Continue
  • If you scroll down, it should show your approved community and you should have access to the roommate portal as well.

I hope this helps. This process is nerve-wracking and feels a little upside down, but I guess it works out!

overload I guess. Thank you for the information. Did your daughter complete her app before May 1st? My son did not, they may be why.

Yes she completed it in early April. I believe that no placement is guaranteed if the housing app was received after May 1.

And if it’s any comfort, even though she was able to hack and accept a roommate request, we still have not received an official Baylor email. Sigh

Unfortunately that would be it. Your son won’t have a housing assignment yet, nor access to the roommate matching tab. He’ll be assigned by Campus Living and Learning to a room after Choose Your Own Room finishes in early June. Your son will need to sit tight until then.

TXmomBaylor, i was reading this forum and was curious if you daughter did EA or ED? Sept seems really early to get notified.

Being this late in January and no notification of acceptance is this a sign that it’s an unlikely Yes ?

Are all decisions made by 2/1 and are announcements on Fridays only, meaning there are 3 weeks left?

Does an email come out Thursday to check back Friday?
