Baylor University vs CU Boulder

I’m having a difficult time choosing between Baylor and Boulder because they are such different schools. I’m from Colorado and love the outdoors and staying active and am afraid I will get bored at Baylor since Waco doesn’t have much and I’m used to being out and about. Also, I would prefer larger class sizes which I would find at Boulder, but Baylor is better known in the medical field (my major is health sciences) and for its academics in general. However, Boulder is still a good school and close to home whereas Baylor is quite far. Also I am wondering what the party scene at Baylor is like because at Boulder it is extremely prevalent and could be overwhelming.

I do not know too much about Boulder, but I am a current Baylor student.
Waco is definitely a smaller town that is not the most exciting, but there are some hidden gems for fun things to do. The zoo is actually one of the best that I have ever been to. I would suggest getting involved in some student organizations to occupy time outside of class (there are many intramural sports and other organizations for outdoor activities). The Baylor campus is set on a marina.
As for the party scene, it does exist if you look for it, but does not make up a majority of students. It is a fun school to attend even if you do not partake in partying.
The sciences department is wonderful and well-known by graduate and professional schools. I would say the average class size for general sciences is about 100 students.
The only real issue I have with the school is that the Waco airport is small and the Dallas airport is far away. Dallas/Fort Worth and Austin are both about an hour and a half drive.
Best of luck in your decisions!
