BC Fall 2020 Transfer Thread

Accepted CAS

accepted CAS but i’ve also gotten into emory and unc chapel hill so i probably won’t be attending, for those of you who are waitlisted!!

Where did she spend the year?

Rejected, though wasn’t expecting an acceptance.

I hope this helps someone in the future… I was accepted to Lynch with a 29 on the ACT LOL IT’S POSSIBLE. My GPA is not a perfect 4.0 either at 3.85 but I put a looot of passion into my personal statement and had some good ECs too I think. :slight_smile: If you’re reading this in 2021 or 2022 or something, good luck hehe, you got this

Why are Computer Science and Math listed both with Lynch and Arts&Sciences?

I just got into CSOM. Jw Where did you get this info?

@bbfan1927

for anyone who needs it(likely those applying next year to transfer) because ik this helped ease my mind a lot whilst going through this stressful process again,

accepted to MCAS econ

transferred from large state school

College GPA: 4.0
mid term: 4.0
HS gpa: 3.37
SAT: 1490
good rec from my college chinese teacher with whom I was close
HS ECs: really nothing outside of sports and part time job
College ECs: clubs related to chinese and econ/business as well as club basketball(I tried to get involved)
Essay: connected BC to my interests in aiding in problems related to poverty and global warming issues(I was in clubs related to these) and just showed how BC is the perfect school to launch a career related to these.

Good luck!

Does anyone know when BC will start using the waitlist?

@privatebanker

M-CAS
C-SOM
C-SON

No one refers to it as CAS. FYI.

…good grief.

@Hugebuns

congrats! Not to diminish your stats or achievements but you drew and hit to an inside straight.

The BA in Elementary Education requires a major in Arts & Sciences (or used to).

I got accepted into MCAS with a 1270 sat (Approx 27 ACT) as a sophomore transfer. I wanted to post this because I want to let everyone in similar positions know, IT IS POSSIBLE. I was rejected to MCAS last year and made it a goal to transfer in. I won’t lie, it took a **** ton of work, but you can do it. Don’t let a low SAT or ACT score make this or any school seem out of your reach. I never retook the SAT, I instead decided to focus on the future once I got to school. I got a 4.0 my freshmen year, got involved in extracurriculars, and received amazing letters of rec. Most importantly, I never listened to the “Chance Me’s” on CC, Reddit, Discord, or any other platform. I crossed my fingers and decided to shoot my shot again a few months ago, and low and behold, I got in! Keep your heads up and never give up on the process people!

Does anyone know when they’re going to start releasing waitlist decisions?

There was movement on Class of 2024 waitlist yesterday.

Hopefully next week

Anything yet for waitlists?

Nothing yet…

I called admissions. They said they will take a day or two to look at how many people accepted and then they will go to the waitlist. I was waitlisted at CSOM. Coming from Top 20 LAC.
