Does anyone have any experience with being on the waitlist for the Chestnut Hill campus for fall classes? What are the chances of my getting in at the campus? (they have “satelitte” campuses.

This is the email I sent to the director of admissions about the situation from this past week:
be made by the department, they will be and the effect of this dilemma will be considered. Have you spoken to Elizabeth regarding her offering me the classes in CH? How long is the list and what are the chances that I will get the CH courses?

Thanks and I am very sorry for being difficult. I was so excited to be able to have gotten the classes at CH and since she is the director in advising, I assumed that it was a done deal. I had my hopes up and thought that everything was finally in place and I just want to start the program. If there is anything at all I can do to help, please let me know. I was at the campus, have lived in Brighton and been a season ticket holder (football/hockey) and dreamt of attending my whole life and would really love to be there. I arranged for care in Brighton (off Washington St, near Domino’s) for my family member in case of an issue, and other plans that I should have waited on.

Please let me know about the length of the wait list and where I was told I had the spot, the odds you think will be.

What graduate program? In all honest, I think your email could have been written a bit more professionally?

I did cut some parts out and add in a few details to let you all know more about the situation…

I’m just so frusterated because I was told I was in, then I was told I had to be on the wait list to get in the main campus…

I am hoping that the recipient of the e-mail isn’t thinking the same thing as you when he gets it!!! It was changed a bit, but still… That probably ruined it for me, huh?

I don’t know that it ruined it for you, but I think you came off a bit desperate. It would have been better to frame the situation in a different light.
You never said what program it was you were applying/admitted to?
Also, I don’t know a lot about BC, but I wasn’t aware they had multiple campuses. Isn’t the only campus out around Newton?

They have new satelitte campus’ (two in MA, one in Maine), which I don’t like at all…

I know, I can’t take the email back now though, so it’s make me feel so terrible… It has been a nightmare, I lost my dad in the process, because he’s a POS and left me high and dry without any money after no child support EVER. So, I paid to go to this campus, was told there was a slot and now there isn’t. I have dreamt of this my whole life and I just am discouraged.

I know that you are trying to help, but if u can lie and say that the email sounded great, that might make me feel a little better, haha.

They also have to accomdate students w/ disibilites. I do have a disibility, where I would have a doctor state that I need to be closer to my doctor, as well as my vision doesn’t allow me to drive at night. (there is public tranportation from my home).

What do you think?

Again, bringing up the doctor issue sounds a bit desperate. I think they could easily come back and say that you could find a doctor to treat you in the vicinity of any of their campuses. Beyond that, if you currently live closer to the branch campus you’re assigned to than to the main campus they could say that that satellite campus you’re assigned will put you closer to your existing doctors.
Here’s another question for you, will the degree/transcript explicitly say you went to a satellite campus or just say that you attended BC? If it won’t say which campus you did your course work on I don’t think it is a huge issue. I mean I totally get that you want to be on the main campus, but you’re still getting a degree from a top tier university.
You still never said what program is it? Are the professors different for each campus? Do you feel like you would get a higher quality education with the professors teaching the courses on the main campus? You might be able to frame it like that. Stating that you feel like you’re paying BC tuition and feel that the professors at the main campus are more prestigious/qualified and you were looking forward to taking your courses with those professors. If you go this route make sure you research the professors and can speak to which professors you are interested in studying under and why.
At this point I wouldn’t do anything else until you hear back from them. Maybe it’s not as bad as you think.

Hi there,
No, it will only be one semester there, because the main campus is full and I applied late, it’ the same staff, my issue is the commute and I can not drive during the night on the highway. I get really anxious and try to avoid it at all costs. It’s over an hour commute to get there!

Thanks
