BC Regular Decision Fall 2022 Admissions

if you don’t mind sharing where is your daughter going? I am curious as to where the kids that turn it down end up going?

Add one more, my D is going elsewhere.

Purdue Honors College! Everyone is pleased. It is a bit stronger in computer science, half the price of BC, she will graduate with no loans, and she will have $40k banked for grad school. She had some really good choices. It nearly killed her to turn down some of the places she got into, but once the choice was made, so much pressure just suddenly disappeared, replaced by excitement. It was good to see.

Check the common data set for waitlist info from prior years. You can just Google common data set, Boston college. You would be looking for WL data for last school year and the few prior years. It will give you number WL, how many elected to stay on WL and if any got in, how many. Great source of info. Publicly available. Best of luck.

I am between BC and Tufts. I will make a final decision in the coming weeks. Tufts is a Tier 1 Research program, so that is certainly factoring in to my decision. They both have a ton of gen ed requirements, although at BC my AP tests satisfy many, not the case at Tufts. At Tufts the high AP scores just let you move up to the next level of class if you want.

That is almost my daughter’s story exactly, except she’s going to Michigan State’s Honors College and Nurse Scholar program. It’s 60k LESS per year than BC; as hard as it was to turn BC down, the money we’ll save will fully fund her graduate degree (DNP/CRNA).

Best of luck to all waiting on a waitlist spot or still trying to make a decision. They will all land where they’re supposed to be!

That waitlist data is from 2020, not 2021. No exact data seems available on WL info for last year. I’m sure it was WAY fewer than 600 kids.

Last year, BC had a long WL of thousands of kids. They released almost all of them by the first week of May and said their class was full. Then they kept about 200 kids on a smaller WL until July when they told those kids that they were closing the WL completely. I believe only a handful of students got offers overall.

You can look through the BC waitlist thread from last year and see these details.

thank you - that’s awful… I told my son to give it up. he is accepting his spot at Villanova business school and we are moving on. I wish they never put him on waitlist.

That is not true about housing. Top 15% of applicants and some athletes get 4 years of housing.
