Be an Adcom! Would you accept me? :)

Whoa, you are one happy happy person! That is a emoticon fest up there, LOL.
Your username was a giveaway.

Your obviously in, why would you even post…?

You would probably get in anywhere, I’m almost 99% sure you’ll get into Darmouth.

I mean who takes Calculus AB in 9th grade lol and BC in 10th??

My school doesnt even have BC since its Uber small and crappy.

Hey Pranam…you look like a sureshot here, great stats.I bet they didn’t even need to interview you, lol! Seriously, did you have an interview at all?

Whether you get an interview or not has no effect on admissions.

eager…what I guess I’m implying is if a candidate is so good on paper(like Pranam is)then there’s just no NEED for a physical interview. The way I see it is that the whole purpose of interviews is for colleges to get a better idea of the candidate.Maybe I’m wrong, but are the really exceptional candidates always interviewed?

At Dartmouth, every applicant, regardless of qualifications is interviewed if there is an alumni available in his or her area. But Pranam, your application will be the bane of my existence. I’d like to formally welcome you to Dartmouth '15.

I question whether every applicant is interviewed if there is an alumni available in the area. We live in San Diego which isn’t a small city and D did not get an interview but was admitted (and is attending) this year.

C’badDad…exactly my thoughts.I get the feeling that very strong candidates might not necessarily be interviewed. That’s why I’m kinda waiting for Pranam’s response to see if he did have an interview or not.Was your D’s stats very strong,if you don’t mind my asking?

^^^ Yes. 2360; 3.95 UW GPA; good ECs; rigorous but not most rigorous courses (e.g. no AP science–but AP Calc BC).

^^^Thanks,CBD…Those are great stats. One last question, how many AP classes did she take(if you remember)? Thanks.

If there are too many applicants coming out of one area and not enough alumni volunteers to interview them, then all of them won’t be interviewed. There’s no prioritization based on scores. At my school, I was the only one interviewed out of the three who applied, but (disclaimer: self-call approaching) I was the strongest applicant by far. I ended up being the only one admitted.

Hey guys! Yes, I did have an interview with a recent Dartmouth graduate. She was very sweet and very intelligent. Not only was she valedictorian of her class at a prestigious private school in Pennsylvania, she was a nationally-ranked Debate champion. She applied Regular Decision, though, so I don’t know if she gives me any indication of whether I can get in…But hey, I have a question: Does Dartmouth send out likely letters to ED applicants? As you can see, I am VERY anxious to find out whether I get in! :D

^^^So that disproves my theory that they may not bother to interview the ā€˜VERY STRONG’ candidates.Looks like wherever possible, they do interview applicants, irrespective of strength of applicants stats. Thanks for the reply,Pranam.

No problem, collegetips! I’m glad I got an interview! They are so much fun! Haha, I am so weird…
Hey, does anybody here actually attend Dartmouth? If so, do you think I could add a new dimension to the student body if I got in? That’s probably a major thing the admissions committee is looking for…

haha we meet again pranam0. I can’t see there being any chance of you not getting in. You are the ideal applicant I would say. we should totally hang out if we both get in. haha

Dude, I appreciate it! That sounds like an awesome plan! Haha yes, we’ve already made friends before even getting in! ;)

I’m a '14. You’ll probably get in – quit sweating it! If by some chance you aren’t admitted, I’m confident you’ll have lots of excellent options come April.

I appreciate it DartmouthForever! It’s hard not to stress, because this decision will pretty much affect where my life goes from here  But I shall take your advice and remain calm! :)

Just wanted to add that you’ll do great were ever you go!!!
I still can’t believe you’re a senior… :frowning:
Go Pranam!!!
