Hey everyone,
As hopeful as you are, and as excited about your new experience, you must consider your safety always. As fun as it is making friends at a new university, your education always comes first, no matter how attractive a super active social life may be to you. And if you do make friends, be careful, because not everyone appears as they seem.
Unfortunately despite university campuses and students touting their acceptance of everyone, and anti-racism, these people will still exist on even the most diverse of campuses. Any religious or cultural practices you express are NO ONE’S business but your own; as long as you are not hurting anyone, go about your day and remember this is your life to live and explore. Any way you look is no one’s business. Don’t let people hold you back.
