My best section is the english section and I usually finish with about 10 min. I think I am going to start the math section early on the next ACT. At the school where I take it, the teachers do not really pay attention, so I figure I can always be 10 min ahead. Now guys, please do not start telling me about morals. This is a test and this is an opportunity. Be honest about whether or not you would do it.

no, i wouldn’t, because the teachers will notice if you’re drawing triangles and stuff and flipping the pages really far ahead. and when teachers call time what would u do? what if the teacher’s just walking by when she says open your books to the math section, what would u do.

haha. my testing center was HUGE. i could have done it, or did I…;)

i wouldn’t do it because i’d be too afraid of getting caught (although, as i suck at math, i could really use the extra time). also, if i did cheat, i’d probably feel really guilty afterwards (and colleges might question how i managed to do so well on that section).

10 minutes wont make that much of a difference =O ^

Don’t do it…the time won’t even help that much. And you MIGHT get caught. It’s not worth it.

OP, a lot of people could use the extra time but don’t take the “opportunity” as you choose to call it. You may not want to hear about morals, but since you asked for “honest” opinions, here’s one: it’s not worth the risk, and what you are planning to do is NOT “honest”.

Not worth it. You’d have to keep your calculator on the floor. What’s the point?

ehh, i would feel reeally bad afterwards…so no, I wouldn’t.

ha I would if I wouldn’t get caught.

I wouldn’t do it. Even if I get a great score, I’d feel like I didn’t deserve it because I CHEATED.

hell no ***

Yeah I definitely wouldn’t do it just because I don’t know I know I’d probably be like yeah I didn’t deserve what I got on that section blah blah. Plus I’d be nervous as hell with the teacher in the room watching. My testing center wasn’t so big so the teacher paid attention to all of us

Math is my best … so it’s hard to say … but regardless if you were too look ahead I would not just start doing the easy ones in the front … you could get caught … I would take a glimpse at like #55-60 and think about those, just do like 2 or 3 cuz those r wut get most people get stuck on. But that’s ur decision to make to go ahead or not …

one time a girl was shopping. she shoplifted an expensive watch. it was a store and it was an “opportunity”.

yea, that did not prove a point.

I wouldn’t. I’d be too worried about getting caught that I wouldn’t be focusing on the test.

Your odds of successfully “cheating” on the ACT rely mostly on two things: (1) the activity of the proctor, and (2) your seat location. Both of the times that I took the ACT, I was fortunate enough to sit far away from the teacher – the second time I took it, the teacher let us choose our seats! - and also, the teachers were more like beached whales, remaining stationary in their seats during the entire test. Naturally, I was tempted to “cheat”. But then again, is it really cheating if the majority do it?

By the way, if you do decide to jump ahead, don’t bubble in the answer on your scantron. Instead, lightly mark the correct answer somewhere in the question booklet…but make sure that you erase any suspicious markes, so as to completely destroy any possible evidence.

or why dont you just not cheat. at all. you can still get a good score without it. take the extra 10 minutes to take a nap. trust me. i finished the english like 25 minutes early. i started the math on time and i still got a 35. it can be done.

I wouldn’t. I’d be so afraid of getting caught.

Plus, you’ll know you didn’t really earn your score and you had an unfair advantage.

PLUS, I have these silly little things called “morals”…

The rules are there for a reason.
