beach and bonfires?

k, so my friend’s birthday is next weds and she really wants to go to the beach. so my other friend and i are planning a trip and i was wondering if there any beaches nearby that allow bonfires? because i went to the santa monica site and it said no fires which blows my mind. beach and bonfires are a pair. that and transportation. i was thinking big blue bus?

Dockweiler

thanks! anything closer? we can only go on a schoolnight and one of my friends had to go and have a class til 3:30 when the buses stop running at 8:30. so if we went there we’d only have 2.5 hours to eat and bonfire and dig a hole big enough for the birthday girl to stand in hahah

does anyone know if ralph’s has fire wood or cvs or rite aid?

Dockweiler is the only one that I know of that allows bonfires, unfortunately. But if you’re into planes, you’ll be happy haha.

lol i would totally plane it up but the birthday girl has never been on a plane as is a bit afraid of them

No Icarus means it right next to LAX, so planes will be flying overhead every ten minutes or so.

haha yep :)

And when we say “right next to LAX”, we mean it…

oh lol! duh i should have known that i was looking up metro routes haha. um i’m not sure i’m okay with that. :-/ honestly, i would much rather just hit the pier at santa monica and forget the bonfire but everyone wants a bonfire. they aren’t even that amazing. oh, they are but really. not worth the extra hassle.

dockweiler also the reputation of being slightly sketchy after dark, so bring some large friends
It’s not that bad, but always better to be safe.
Cabrillo beach also allows bonfires, but that I think if farther away from UCLA. Cabrillo is in San Pedro.
I live near a private beach that allows bonfires, so usually we head there for during the summer.
Yes, you can buy firewood at ralph’s, make sure you get alot it gets so cold and it would be so sad to run out.
Good luck.

Isn’t that how the last (Saturday) Malibu fire started?

lol from a fire on the beach? don’t think so.

they think it was teens in some cave in the middle of a canyon…

… how sad. well i have a place by solana beach but they really don’t want to make it a weekend thing and train tickets are expensive. oh well, time to convince them bonfires are overrated

yea if you guys don’t have a car, it would be kinda hard to do bonfires…

if you guys had better modes of transportation, i would definitely hit up Corona Del Mar in South OC, amazing beach. In fact for our friend’s birthday we did dig a hole for the birthday boy who was 6 feet tall… good times.
